Kyle Durham

M.A.Ed | @Kyle.WD

Kyle’s experience as an educator and working within education is interestingly related to his struggles with ADHD. After teaching k-7 ESL in Cheongju, South Korea for a year, he came home and immediately furthered his goal of being an educator by working Marketing for several years. Eventually, he began his program to obtain his Single Subject California State Teaching Credential in English Language Arts and was privileged to be able to conduct his student teaching at an inner-city high school. For three years, Kyle has worked in post-secondary education. First, we worked with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, TBI, Downs Syndrome, Epilepsy, and other neurodevelopmental exceptionalities. Over the past two years, Kyle has been working as both a professor of English at Vanguard University as well as the Student Success Coordinator, working in a multifaceted capacity helping students achieve their academic goals.

When Kyle isn't teaching, he spends most of his time writing and playing music. He loves his home in Long Beach and is never satisfied with "just one activity".

Daryl Manese

M.A.Ed | @DarylManese

Education should be a platform in which all students see themselves in the learning process thus broadening the definition of what it means to be a successful, contributing member of society. With that, Daryl has become an advocate for the equal and equitable representation of marginalized students and has committed himself to create an inclusive curriculum that utilizes high educational standards while considering real-world problems that are sensitive to both socio-economic and mental health concerns.

When he is not in the classroom, Daryl spends most of his time reading, playing music, and immersing himself in the world of true-crime.  He hopes to one day be a published children's author while making a profound impact in educational policy and state framework. Until then, he is more than happy spending time with his wonderful dog and amazing boyfriend.
